Sold by Conte Andrea di Robilant at Christie’s, 17 July 1931, lot 79, with companion: bought in; from whom later acquired by Agnew, 1937, and sold to Lord Faringdon. The pair of portraits was described in the 1931 sale as Contessa Lucietta Memmo and her sister. The whereabouts of the former has not been traced.
